Overview

In the 1980s, since the "toxic vegetable incident" caused by supplying vegetables in Hong Kong, the problem of toxic pesticide residues in vegetables has gradually attracted widespread attention. In 1993, FST developed and produced the first generation of domestic pesticide detection card. It was first applied to export vegetables in Shenzhen, and later widely used in health, agriculture, industry and commerce, technical supervision, canteen and other departments.

After China became a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2001, Chinese people's living standards have been improved dramatically and continuously. At the same time, measuring the pesticide residues in agricultural products became more urgent than ever before. On the other hand, many of China's agricultural products fail to reach overseas markets because their quality does not meet the standards of developed countries. It is urgent to develop and produce more sensitive and advanced detection products.

Based the market requirement, FSTest took an advantage of our own technology and experience, developed this highly sensitive pesticide detect card after years of hard work. Compared with the previous generation of products, testing sensitivity of the detect card for organophosphorus and carbamate pesticide residues has been greatly improved. Especially for the highly toxic pesticides in vegetables such as Budweiser, dichlorvos. Product Description

FST Paper-based detect card is combined with a wet system was developed for the simple and rapid screening of organophosphate (OP) and carbamate (CM) pesticides based on the inhibition of acetylcholinesterase (AChE), could be applied to determine OP and CM residues in samples

The absence or decrease in blue color produced by the AChE hydrolysis of indoxyl acetate can be observed in the inhibition of OP and CM. Visual interpretation of the color signal in test zone was clearly observed, the limit of detection (LOD) of Carbofuran, DDVP, Methomyl, Dipterex and Profenofos are 0.02, 0.2, 0.2, 0.1, and 0.5 ppm, respectively.

Each FST Paper-based detect card was consisting of a foldable red cover and white detection sheets pre-prepared with indoxyl acetate and AChE,  respectively , low-cost, requires minimal reagents,High detection sensitivity and is easy to handle. As such, it would be practically useful for pesticide screening by non-professional end-users.

Sample Pre-prepared:

1, Surface Sampling Method

Select a vegetable leaf, Wipe soil off, drip 3 drips of Buffer on the leaf surface and rub softly with another vegetable leaf.

2, Entirety sampling method

Select vegetables sample, wipe soil off, cut into pieces, weigh 5g into beaker. Pipette 10ml Buffer drip in, shake 50 times. Stand for more than 2 minutes, pipette the Supernatant.

3, Whole sampling method

Select vegetables sample, wipe soil off, weigh 5g into beaker. Pipette 10ml Buffer drip in, shake 50 times. Stand for more than 2 minutes, pipette the Supernatant.

Note:

It is recommended to use whole sampling method for Onion, garlic, radish, leek, celery, coriander, chicory, mushroom, tomato, and high chlorophyll vegetables to reduce interference.

Testing steps

1, Incubation:

Card A: Pipette 80ul Sample solution in white detection sheets. 

Card B: Pipette 80ul Buffer in white detection sheets as compared.

Incubating for 10 minutes at room temperature.

2, Reaction: Fold A and B in half at the same time, press 3 minutes to react.

3, Interpret:  

Negative: A compared to B, Blue in test zone unchange. 

Positive: A compared to B, Blue in test zone Absence or Decrease.
