Overview

In the 1980s, since the "toxic vegetable incident" in Hong Kong, the problem of toxic pesticide residues in vegetables has gradually attracted widespread attention. In 1993, FST developed and produced the first generation of domestic pesticide detect card. At first it was applied to export vegetables in Shenzhen, and later widely used in health, agriculture, industry and commerce, technical supervision, canteen, and other related departments.

After becoming a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2001, Chinese people's living standards have been improved dramatically and continuously. Meanwhile, measuring the pesticide residues in agricultural products became more urgent than ever before. On the other hand, many of China's produce fail to reach overseas markets because their quality does not meet the standards of developed countries. It is urgent to develop and produce more sensitive and advanced detection products.

Based on the market requirement, FSTest took an advantage of our own technology and experience, developed the latest generation of highly sensitive pesticide detect card after years of hard work. Compared with the previous generation, the latest generation detect card has a lower detection limit and higher accuracy. Especially for the highly toxic pesticides in vegetables, such as Carbofuran, DDVP. Nowadays, FSTest Pesticide Residue Detect Card has become a national standard test method, and exported to many countries and regions, like Korea, the United States and southeast Asia.

Product Description

FSTest Paper-based test strips was developed for the simple and rapid screening of organophosphate (OP) and carbamate (CM) pesticides based on the inhibition effects against acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity.  

In detail, the OP and CM pesticides in the sample have an inhibitory effect on AChE, which can catalyze the hydrolysis of indophenol acetate to produce acetic acid and indophenol. As a result, the indophenol is shown in blue, causing the change of color on the detect card. Thus, the absence or decrease of blue color is related to the amount of OP and CM residues in samples. The color signal in test zone makes the interpretation visual and easy, which ensures the limit of detection (LOD) of Carbofuran, DDVP, Methomyl, Dipterex and Profenofos reach to 0.02, 0.2, 0.2, 0.1, and 0.5 ppm, respectively.

Each FSTest Paper-based test strips consists of a foldable red cover and white detection sheets, which are pre-prepared with indoxyl acetate and AChE respectively. The card is designed at low-cost, with minimal reagents required, high detection sensitivity and easy to handle. Therefore, it would be friendly for operators without professional backgrounds.

It is recommended to use whole sampling method for onion, garlic, radish, leek, celery, coriander, chicory, mushroom, tomato, and high chlorophyll vegetables to reduce the interference.

4. If any FSTest food safety product is defective, we will replace the items or refund the cost. Promptly notify within 30 days after the discovery of any suspected defects in products is necessary for return request.

5. When using this product, other auxiliary tools may be required, such as the balance and pipette.

6. External factors such as sampling methods, testing protocols, sample preparation, handling, and laboratory technique may influence results.

7. After testing, count plates may contain microorganisms that may be a potential biohazard. Please follow current industry standards for disposal.
